The MASON Controller offers the ability to remotely control a device that has connectivity (Wifi or Cellular) by using the X-Ray function. Remote sessions can be useful for navigating the settings or apps on a device while away from the site that it is deployed at. This article will show the steps required to gain remote access to a device.
1. Open the MASON Controller and navigate to the device tab.
2. Find the device that you would like to control directly. This can be done by searching for the device's IMEI/SN/Name/ID or by finding it in the group that it belongs to.
3. Select "Launch Remote Session". Connectivity via Wifi or cellular data is required to access this function. If there is no connectivity, the button will appear grey and you will not be able to select it.
4. A data charge notification will appear. Select "yes, proceed"
5. Now you may navigate the device remotely by clicking the desired apps and/or fields. If the screen appears to be black double click on it to activate the display.
Each device can only be remotely controlled by one user at a time, trying to launch a remote session on a device that already has a session open will result in an error. To end a remote session select the "X" at the top of the device.
